DIY Paint Kit

The idea of the paint kit is pretty simple. It’s like a colour by numbers without the numbers. In saying that, I offer you some tips to make your creative journey a little smoother. Painting on material is a little bit different!

Steps

  1. Lay your flag ontop of your prepped surface

  2. Ready your paints, water paintbrush and cloth

  3. Start painting!

  4. Sign your new piece

  5. Hang

Hot tips

  • Iron out any wrinkles before starting. Do so from the BACK of the flag.

  • Material soaks up a lot of paint. Don’t be afraid to load up your paintbrush.

  • Do two coats of paint if you would like an even coverage of colour.

  • Use the flat edge of your paintbrush to make the width of your lettering

  • Slow and steady, always. It’s hard to cover your bumps, so no rushing!

  • Mark where your colours are going first. You can ensure correct placement by dabbing a small amount of each colour in each area. Use colour guides shown.
